Helpful Housemate sought for Hampstead Heath/ Parliament Fields NW5

Available Jan 2025

Council Tax Band: G

£500 per calendar month (including bills and council tax).

An older person with reduced mobility is seeking a Housemate for their home and is offering lower-than-market-rent to someone who will be happy to lend a hand with some practical help they find difficult (no more than 5 hours a week).

The practical help will include taking in the newspaper and feeding the cats each morning, and at the moment – due to the Host’s mobility – carrying a tray up with a microwaved supper on evenings the Helpful Housemate is at home. They would like someone who will keep the kitchen clean and tidy and washing up done, and who will be happy to give a little help in the garden (such as sweeping leaves/watering plants), simple IT, and run occasional errands and ad hoc other tasks. They will also appreciate the reassurance of having someone living in their home.

The accommodation on offer is a very large bedroom, furnished with a single bed, some easy chairs, wardrobe etc, and own shower room. The Housemate should keep their personal belongings in their own appointed space, and not throughout the property. There is a bright shared kitchen, which is kept very neat and tidy.

The property is conveniently located just 10 minutes’ walk (or 5 minutes bus) from Kentish Town Tube and Thames Link – Northern Line zone 20, and 3 minutes’ walk from Gospel Oak overground. It’s also just a few minutes’ walk from Hampstead Heath (Parliament Fields).

The householder is currently mainly bedbound (they have separate care support) and smokes miniature cigars, but the Housemate’s bedroom is on a separate floor at the top of the house.
