An older householder is seeking a Helpful Housemate for their home to give them a little bit of help – up to 5 hours a week – in exchange for the lower-than-market- rent. 

This person is a deaf and in a wheelchair. They have all the care support they require, but would like to rent out a spare bedroom to a student who would be happy to pick up bits of shopping, watering the garden, help with the phone and simple tech and the odd other practical task or errand that might be useful. 

The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their bedroom clean and tidy, and leave any communal areas such as the bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy after use.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished single bedroom and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen and garden.

The property is located in Enfield, a 20 minute walk or 8 minute bus ride to Edmonton Station (Overground) and is close to Lee Valley, and approx. 30 mins by bus to North Middlesex Hospital.

A retired Civil Servant, the person enjoys reading.

Helpful Housemates usually work or study and have a few spare hours each week to offer a light hand to their Host. The ideal Helpful Housemate will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker.

A friendly couple are seeking a Helpful Housemate for their home to give them a little bit of help – up to 5 hours a week – in exchange for the lower-than-market-rate rent. 

They need someone who is happy to ‘house and dog sit’ on a couple of nights each week (weekdays) when they are away; they have three very friendly whippets who would need feeding, a walk and a little company. The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their own accommodation clean and tidy.

The accommodation on offer is a semi-self-contained flat on the top floor of a large house, including a lovely double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. There is also use of a beautiful garden.

The property is located close to the M2, just 12 mins drive from Faversham 10 mins drive from the nearest station, Teynham, which has free parking (1.10 mins by train to London).

He would really benefit from some practical help around the house including picking up shopping, cooking/helping o prepare a few meals, ad hoc other tasks, and most importantly, the friendly company and reassurance from someone living in his home. 

The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their bedroom clean and tidy, and leave any communal areas such as the bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy after use.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished single bedroom, and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, garden and sitting room.

The property is conveniently located a 5-minute walk to buses (both to Brighton and Worthing, and local buses) and a 10-minute walk to Lancing train station. There is free on-street parking for a driver.

His interests include listening to music, the cricket and football, playing cards (Cribbage), and visits to his local pub. He enjoys a curry.

There is another female lodger in the property, but she is often away on long trips. He has the support of a cleaner and carer as required.

This person would really benefit from some practical help around the house including picking up shopping, tidying, simple tech support (with iphone and ipad), picking up prescriptions and perhaps the odd simple meal here and there.

The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their bedroom clean and tidy, and leave any communal areas such as the bathroom and kitchen clean and tidy after use.

The accommodation on offer is a bright single bedroom – with single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and chair, shelf unity and bedside table with drawers. There is also a sink and mirror, and amazing garden view. There is also shared use of a shower room (shared with a female lodger), and shared use of the kitchen and small garden.

The property is conveniently located just 10 minutes’ walk from Highgate Underground Station (Northern Line Zone 3).

The person is a keen artist (sculpture and painting), reading, singing, walking, going to lectures, politics, and the odd game of Scrabble. This would suit a bright and interesting proactive person who enjoys some interesting conversation and is happy to lend a light hand to their Host.
