A retired person is seeking a Helpful Housemate for their home to give them up to 5 hours a week with little bit of help, company and conversation in exchange for the lower-than-market-rent.
This person would really benefit from some practical help around the house such as simple DIY/fixing things, climbing step ladders to change lightbulbs of get something out of a high cupboard of prune a tree, ad hoc errands, and would enjoy sharing the occasional meal. The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their bedroom and shower room clean and tidy, and help to keep any communal areas such as the kitchen and sitting room clean and tidy, especially after use. Please note that there is a friendly, elderly cat, so a cat-lover is essential.
The accommodation on offer is a beautifully-presented double bedroom, furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and chair and small sofa.
The property is in a lovely residential location close to Ruislip Common. It is a 20-minute walk to Northwood Hills Station (Metropolitan Line) and a 30-minute walk to Ruislip Station (Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines). There is parking available.
The person is active and sociable, with a wide range of interests, including the gym, walking with friends, theatre, ballet and opera, gardens and gardening, travel and history.
Helpful Housemates usually work or study and have a few spare hours each week to offer a light hand to their Host. The ideal Helpful Housemate will be a positive, friendly, practical, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the Host’s interests.

They would really benefit from some practical help around the house including simple IT, basic DIY and a little help in the garden, and ad hoc other help/errands as might be useful etc. The Helpful Housemate is also requested to keep their bedroom and ensuite shower room clean and tidy, and leave any communal areas such as the kitchen clean and tidy after use.
The accommodation on offer is a good-sized double bedroom furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, table and office chair and a fridge. The Housemate will also have shared use of the kitchen, sitting room and garden.
The property is located in Shipley, just a 7-minute drive from the station (1.2 miles). There is on-road parking.
The couple are retired and cultured, and share an enjoyment of classical music. This would suit a friendly, practical person with a quiet life-style who would be happy to lend a hand in exchange for the accommodation.
